Since 1996, Aracari has been designing unique, tailor-made itineraries to Peru, Bolivia and the Galapagos Islands, offering discerning travellers privileged access to regions we’ve been exploring for almost two decades. Through connections cultivated by founder Marisol Mosquera, Aracari has tapped into the expertise of specialists in art, history, archaeology, gastronomy and culture, who provide our guests with their invaluable insight into the places they visit—information and access which is otherwise inaccessible to travellers.
Leaving behind an international career in the financial world to fulfill a personal dream of providing first class travel experiences to guests in her native country, Marisol and her Peru-based team share the best the region has to offer while creating local jobs and supporting local communities. Marisol was at the forefront of experiential travel in Peru and for her efforts has been recognized as both Conde Nast Top Travel Specialist to Peru and Bolivia and selected as the Travel + Leisure A-List as a specialist for Peru and Bolivia.
Taking serious pride in offering uncompromised quality of service, every experience is tested out before recommending it to clients. Aracari’s expert travel planners provide first-hand, honest recommendations, working tirelessly to ensure all itineraries are seamless when guests are in the country. Don’t just take our word for it: Many journalists have travelled with us and written about their experiences, as well as guests who consistently provide us with glowing testimonials.
Aracari creates unique and authentic experiences in Peru, Bolivia and the Galapagos to provide you with an unforgettable – and even life-changing – journey.
- All our itineraries are tailor-made: every element of your journey is private and customized with flexibility when you’re travelling. We take care in listening to you closely to understand your interests, tastes and travel style exactly.
- We test everything out personally, including inspecting hotels on a room-by-room level. Our team is based in-country so all recommendations are based personal, first-hand knowledge.
- 24/7 ground support is provided throughout your trip. We provide you with a welcome pack and pre-paid mobile phone on arrival. Need a table reservation? Just give us a call.
- Avoiding mass tourists and the cookie-cutter approach is key to ensuring you feel like a guest, not a tourist. We work with specialists who are leaders in their field (academics, historians, chefs) and connect you with our personal friends – not tour guides – who can show you ‘their’ Peru in an infinitely more personal and privileged way.
If Aracari is one thing, it is a team effort. We pride ourselves in being a highly-knowledgeable and specialised team, and we are all focused on creating and implementing the most authentic hand-crafted travel itineraries in Peru.
Each member of the team undergoes thorough training and on-going support, tailored to their personalities and needs. This includes experiential knowledge-building by travelling to the fascinating and varied destinations we offer. Working in a small company gives you the opportunity to make a big difference, and we welcome service and detail-oriented individuals who thrive in this kind of unique business.
