Marisol Mosquera, Founder and President

Marisol Mosquera

I founded Aracari to fulfill a personal dream of providing first class travel experiences for an international clientele while locally creating jobs and supporting the local communities. It’s extremely gratifying to source and reward those contributors who excel in effort, enthusiasm and commitment to sharing the best of Peru and South America with the rest of the world. Aracari has become a family for all of us. The best thing about working in Aracari is that it requires me to be permanently connected to the worlds of art, culture, archaeology, geography, wildlife conservation, cuisine: in short, all those disciplines that are key to sourcing outstanding experiences for our clients. It is also wonderful to connect with a network of amazing people from all over the world on a daily basis.

Cynthia Caceres / Sales & Operations Manager
I have been working for Aracari for over 12 years and have enjoyed being a part of our dynamic team. I have a bachelor’s degree in Tourism Administration and lived for one year in the United States. Over the years I’ve traveled throughout Peru and several other countries in Latin America. My travel experience has given me the tools to suggest the best itineraries for our clients. I love the challenge of putting together itineraries at the last minute and adapting our journeys to perfectly meet the needs of our demanding clientele. I also enjoy building relationships with the clients I have repeatedly worked with over the years.

Nila Boquin / Marketing Manager – North America
I have gone from Aracari client to team member, so when I promote our journeys I speak from a very sincere place. From my California-based home I market the virtues of authentic travel to the Andean region and enjoy bridging the distance between our clients and my Lima-based team. I have lived and worked in South America and studied Hotel Administration (Cornell University) and Latin American Studies (New York University). My job not only allows me to give the first-class service I always enjoyed giving while working at hotels around the world, but it also keeps me intimately connected to a region I know, love and visit as often as possible. Hopefully you’ll find my passion for travel in Peru and beyond contagious!

Maricarmen Vargas & Juan Llanos / Cuzco based Team
As a husband and wife team we have a combined 30 years of experience working in tourism. We manage all of Aracari’s tours and treks in the Cuzco area and are used to handling any and every challenge that comes our way. It’s always a pleasure welcoming Aracari clients to our city and making sure their visits to Machu Picchu, its beautiful surroundings and Cuzco itself are everything our clients had hoped for. Here we are pictured with our daughter who works as a chef in Barcelona. We’re so proud that she has taken the Peruvian culinary tradition across the globe!

Ricky Meyers / Direct Clients
I was on a plane at the age of two weeks, and 30 countries later I find myself working in an industry very integral to my upbringing and how I view the world. I live in Lima and travel extensively around the region not only because it is my job to keep the Aracari product fresh, but because I truly love learning and experiencing new cultures. I have a BA in Communication Studies (Loyola University, New Orleans) and worked for several years in online marketing. I find it gratifying knowing that I help play a part fulfilling each and every traveler desire to have a memorable trip.

Vera Sproll / Senior Travel Consultant
My name is Vera and I am originally from Germany where I studied Tourism Management. After traveling through nearly all Central and some South American countries as well as working most of the time in Costa Rica and Guatemala, I finally settled down in Peru. Thanks to my different former jobs in the tourism industry in different countries I can put into practice my obtained knowledge in hospitality business, operations, guidance services and sales at Aracari. For me, Peru is so special because of its people and its gastronomic variety.

Carmen Cirilo / Travel Consultant
I studied tourism because I was attracted to a service-oriented career that required me to be creative. At Aracari each journey is unique so putting together a proposal always requires me to use my imagination. I enjoy the challenge of working hard to make sure our clients’ preferences are met and that their travel dreams are fulfilled. I have been working for Aracari for 1 year and during this time I’ve had the opportunity to travel to Southern Peru with an incentive group from Brazil and other destinations to broaden my knowledge of my beautiful country. I speak English and a bit of French.

Raul Varela / Client Relations
I am generally the first Aracari member that our clients meet since I greet them upon arrival into Lima. I came from a business background, but was happy to leave a traditional office behind in order to work in the vibrant world of tourism. I’ve never regretted that change since there’s never a dull moment in the world of travel. I enjoy sharing my love for Peru with travelers from around the world and helping solve issues on the ground. My job is to make our clients feel welcome, safe and well-advised from the moment they set foot into the Lima airport.

Vicky Limon / Sales & Operations Manager
My name is Virginia but everyone simply calls me Vicky. I have over 20 years of experiencing in receptive tourism. I decided to go into tourism after living in Europe (England and France) where I studied English and French translation. After returning to Peru I decided to apply my new found language skills in the field of tourism. I love getting to know different destinations, customs and cultures. It’s gratifying to know that travelers who visit my country leave fascinated and completely enamored by it. They feel that Peru offers a perfect combination of nature, culture, archeology, adventure, and community tourism. I can’t help but agree!

Yasmin Rivera / Travel Consultant - Groups
My name is Yasmin and I have been working in tourism for the past 9 years. Over the years I have had the opportunity to visit the destination highlights of my country. I always wanted to study and work as a Tour Consultant because I enjoy preparing every single detail of a wonderful and unforgettable journey – especially when Peru is the main destination! At Aracari I enjoy being part of a nice and highly-trained professional team. In my opinion what binds us is our desire to provide the highest quality service to each of our guests.

urelio Apolinario / Administrative & Finance Manager
I have been working for Aracari for over 10 years and have enjoyed watching the company evolve. We’ve experienced impressive growth while our commitment to sharing the most authentic Andean travel has remained unchanged. It’s always a privilege to be able to explore Peru, and in the process learn about my own culture. I’m convinced that travel has given me a better understanding of people and therefore helped me to more effectively manage the Aracari team. Currently I am the Administrative and Finance Manager and I’m eager to support my team as best as I can.

Lidia Quillahuaman / Sales Support
My name is Lidia and I currently study tourism and hotel administration at San Martin de Porres University in Lima. I was drawn to this career because it is so uplifting to work with foreigners who are interested in discovering the many tourist attractions found my country. I decided to do my internship at Aracari because I appreciate the high standards and attention to detail that is required in the office. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that we work hard each day to ensure that our clients feel comfortable and that they get to know the customs of each region of my beautiful country and beyond.

Belen Aliaga / Administrative Support
I’m Belen and I have a background in accounting and am currently studying management consulting. I’m very committed, hard-working and ready to learn. I have worked for several different companies as an administrative and management assistant. These experiences provided wonderful training for my position within the Aracari team. I am really enjoying my job at Aracari, and love being a part of a team that strives to share the best of Peru with the rest of the world.
