Our Philosophy

We are devoted EXCLUSIVELY to the design and execution of itineraries for private groups and individuals to the destination of your choice focussing on your particular interest: culture, archaeology, adventure, nature or special interest travel. We offer high added value and quality services at all levels. We will work with you to design the trip exactly to suit your needs and tastes.

A private, two-week tailor made itinerary for two, excluding international flights, staying in five star hotels, starts form approximately $3500 per person depending on the services you choose. If you choose tourist-standard hotels, the price can start at $2400 per person. In budget accommodation the prices can go down to $1500 per person. For a better idea of our itineraries and prices, please go to sample itineraries Peru or sample itineraries Bolivia.

We are constantly incorporating new ideas to our itineraries and discarding others that no longer work. No two itineraries are the same: there are no such things as packages at Aracari.

We love taking our guests to the outback either trekking or on overlanding expeditions, and offer them a first class experience in the wilderness! Our treks have first class staff and are fully outfitted. You will feel as close as close to luxury as it is possible in the Andes !

Our Mission

Aracari was founded in 1996 with one aim in mind: to promote Peru's natural and cultural attractions sustainably through low-impact, high-quality tourism.

Firm campaigners for the sensitive management of tourism we choose lodges and services that respect the environment and work towards its improvement, particularly through the involvement of local communities.

In natural areas and National Parks , we check (before initiating our relationship with lodge operators and buying their product), that they behave in a responsible manner.

Specific aspects that we look at are whether they promote the advancement of indigenous people within their staff. It is not enough to employ them as cooks and boatmen, but it is key to train them as guides and managers. Likewise, in the behavior toward the environment, we like operators who use environmentally friendly methods for waste management, and who use construction materials that can be regenerated. We also prefer those lodges that channel their resources to the research and protection of the environment, through the hosting of biologists who are studying local plant and animal species, or are working toward the protection of endangered populations.

In rusral and mountain areas, we do our best to hire directly or through local operators, responsible guides, drivers and facilitators, who involve local communities and pay them what they deserve for their porter age and other services. We also foster the promotion of local culture through our support of projects and initiatives that are managed by responsible individuals in the areas we cover.

Some of the initiatives we support are the work of Mother Antonia in the Colca Valley, the in Leymebamba, Chachapoyas, the village of Patakancha near Cuzco and the Center for Traditional Textiles in Cuzco. (Please contact us for more information on these initiatives.)
