Projects we Support

Center for Traditional Textiles

At Aracari we strongly believe in giving back to the countries in which we operate. In our view, it is not enough for us to simply choose suppliers who are respectful of the environment and local communities – we have to create and support community projects on the ground ourselves. We have to get involved!
We aim to find projects that are well-run by honest people and/or institutions. Currently, we are involved in the following. The first, the Patakancha Community Project was initiated by Aracari. Two other projects, the Museo Leymebamba in Chachapoyas area and the Center for Traditional Textiles in Cuzco, are independently run.
Marisol is also personally involved in the restoration of a beautiful historic
seventeenth century house in the Centre of Lima. Casa
Prado, the home of the presidential Prado family for over
two centuries, has just been listed as one of the top 100 most
endangered sites 2008 by the World Monuments Fund.
We support them by increasing the visibility of their work among our clients and the press as well as helping them to raise money.
You are welcome to visit these three projects during your trip to Peru.
