Astrid & Gaston
Leading the trend is Gaston Acurio, the veteran of this lot, who after his Cordon Bleu training in Paris and several years in Madrid, returned to Lima, and together with his french wife, established the superb Astrid & Gaston restaurant in Miraflores 12 years ago.
His creativity and business sense has now put him at the helm of a group of "theme' restaurants, each one with a similar vision: to elevate traditional Peruvian cuisine to something contemporary, dynamic and exciting that fuses and blends the wonderful flavours smells and experiences of Peru to produce something truly unique. His restaurants are providing a sort of "incubator" for young restaurateurs who are then empowered and becoming chefs in their own right. |
