Hacienda Arona
Cañete, Southern Coast
This colonial hacienda is located on the Pacific
Coast of Peru approximately 143 km or nearly 2 hours from Lima on
the Panamerican highway. It is normally included within our visit
of the Southern coast (Nazca lines
and Ballestas islands).
It exists since early Colonial times (1550s). Since its beginnings,
the estate was devoted to the plantation of sugar cane and cotton;
only in the last 30 years have fruit orchards and asparagus plantations
have been introduced.
The building has been extended and renovated several times since
its original construction, but its overall appearance remains. It
is a handsome building with original features and family memorabilia
throughout. You will be guided around the house and land by one
of the family members.
