Over the last thirty years, Dr Eduardo Barbosa and
his wife Silvia amassed a serious and important collection Spanish
colonial art, which is kept in their family house located in a residential
neighbourhood of Lima. The devotion to collecting and to the family
collection has been transmitted to their sons, who are now entrusted
with safekeeping, preserving and presenting the treasures to visitors.
Not only collectors but also conservators, the family has recognised
workshop where they conserve and restore the works they acquire.
Firm believers of works of art an important part of Peruvian heritage
and identity, the Barbosa family is keen to receive discerning visitors.
The visit to the collection is a unique experience, not only due
to the quality of the art exhibited, but mainly because it offers
the unique opportunity of seeing the work through the eyes of the
collector. Aldo Barbosa not only conveys passion and enthusiasm,
but deep and comprehensive knowledge of his subject.
