Bolivia offers a myriad of possibilities for the curious traveler. It is remote but safe to travel in, as well as relatively less expensive than any of its South American neighbours.   However, as a poor South American country it currently lacks a solid infrastructure and travel network. At Aracari we can bridge the difficulties you could face here.

We believe it is vital to have logistical real-time support and excellent guiding to support you on the ground. As the experts in customized travel to Bolivia we know the right people and will create a fascinating itinerary for you – but most importantly we will be accountable for its efficient implementation on a day-to-day basis as you travel around this beautiful, emerging destination. You will be superbly taken care of every step of the way.

Explore the geological and cultural splendours of Bolivia

Many visitors travel to the Highlands of Bolivia where you will find Lake Titicaca and the Uyuni Salt pans, but we also recommend a visit to the rainforest of Bolivia. Here you will find some of the most pristine rainforest in South America in the Madidi and Noel Kempff Mercado national parks, home to thousands of animals, plants and birds. For wildlife viewing the Bolivian Pantanal is a must.

The historic cities of Sucre and Potosi give you differing but fascinating insights into the colonial past of the country, while the Jesuit Missions near the city of Santa Cruz are definitely worth a visit, particularly is you have a strong cultural and architectural interest.

Strong folk traditions and trekking

When we design a trip we are particularly careful to build opportunities for you to build an understanding of the culture of Bolivia. See the extraordinary craftsmanship at the markets held in the Highlands and experience the strong folk tradition in music and dance.

You can also trek deep within the Cordillera Real and Apolobamba mountain ranges, with the wide variations of terrain and large extensions of Inca road prevailing in certain parts.

Why Aracari?
Book a trip

β€œIn March this year, I embarked on a two month trip in South America and asked Aracari to set up a programme for Bolivia and Peru . The aim was for me to see as much as possible within the time allocated, bearing in mind that Bolivia is less travelled with poorer infrastructure in the south west coupled with high altitudes which may/may not have caused me problems.

As well as providing good quality guides through their network, I was able to correspond with them by e-mail during the trip, keeping them informed of both the good and the bad things that happened.  That was very useful as they were then able to activate changes when things did not go according to plan. For example, whilst in Potosi in Bolivia , there was a lorry blockade which meant that I spent an additional day in Potosi . As a result, I lost one day on Sucre and my plane to La Paz had to be delayed by one day. Changes in the programme were therefore required. This was all organised for me without incurring extra cost and as compensation for the change, which was not their fault, Aracari gave me a free half day tour in La Paz so that I could us my time more effectively.” Celia Cox, Winchester, Hampshire,   UK, May 2007
