La Casona is the latest venture from eco-tourism leaders Inkaterra. This colonial manor house was perhaps the first Spanish construction in Cusco built over an Inca complex and later occupied by the conquistadores of Peru, and their descendants. It is located across from the Monasterio Hotel in the Plaza de las Nazarenas next-door to the Museum of Pre-Columbian Art. Eleven suites surround a sumptuous courtyard, where the patina of time is tastefully preserved. Operating like a private grand home as opposed to a commercial enterprise, the hotel’s serene ambience is backed by its reassuring eco credentials. Features 11 suites overlooking the city or patios. Each suite is elegantly appointed with antiques and feature one king or two double beds, open closet, dining area with open fireplace, individually controlled heated floors, and sumptuously spacious private bathroom with double basin, separate shower and toilet; fully appointed with extra-soft towels, handmade amenities and oversized tub.
