Peru's finest travel specialist is celebrating
To mark the centenary of Machu Picchu's scientific discovery, ARACARI has created an epic and historical journey from the 12th to the 19th of April 2011. This is our 15th Anniversary year, and we have upped the ante, combining our insight, contacts and experience to craft an itinerary par excellence. The "Trip of the Century”…

World-renowned historian John Hemming will lecture during the trip
Our 20 privileged guests will have the unrivalled opportunity of sharing the insight and knowledge of Dr. John Hemming while attending his private talks and exploring key archaeological sites with his guidance. The World authority on Inca history as a fellow traveller and group lecturer!

Relive Hiram Bingham’s “discovery” in April 2011
Following 1911 the world was enthralled with the idea of Yale scholar Hiram Bingham stumbling across Machu Picchu in the Peruvian wilderness. 100 years later and now you can be one of the few people to relive this historic moment. We have chosen April so that our guests do not get caught up in the hullabaloo set to engulf associated ceremonies in July.

All the wonder and splendour of Machu Picchu
One of the World's best-known archaeological sites and yet still so little is known about it. Only alongside someone with John Hemming’s knowledge of recent discoveries and interpretations of Inca architecture can you hope to thoroughly investigate a site of Machu Picchu’s grandeur and intricacy.

Much more than Machu Picchu...
Guests will visit the enticing city of Lima; the gorgeous Sacred Valley; the resplendent city of Cusco and the ruins of Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Sacsayhuaman. Our exciting itinerary has been compiled with care and good measure to ensure that this will be the journey of a lifetime.
|
An intelligent combination of luxury and adventure
ARACARI has cleverly fused comfort and luxury with adventure in designing this trip. You will enjoy first-class accommodation, exquisite dining and impeccable organisation along with the excitement and discovery that are implicit with any great historic expedition.
|
|
Exclusive access to fascinating places and private events
As is the style of Aracari, guests will experience Peruvian culture through private art collections, galleries, expositions and exclusive events. We have, for instance, specifically timed the trip to include the powerful and moving "Lord of the Earthquakes" procession in Cusco; this will be seen from our own private balcony on the city's main square.
|
A special edition "Trip of the Century" travel kit for every guest
At the beginning of the journey, each traveller will receive a personally-tailored travel kit with a private travel guide; a copy of "The Conquest of the Incas" signed by author John Hemming; and an official certificate of attendance... as well as other wonderful surprises throughout the trip!
