A great alternative – or addition to – the various luxury Galapagos cruise options, Galapagos Safari Camp is an eco-luxury tented camp that emulates the African safari tradition. Set on a high ridge on Santa Cruz Island, the camp overlooks the National Park and offers spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and other nearby islands.

Galapagos Safari Camp – a natural setting

The Galapagos Safari Camp has a total of nine safari tents and one family suite perched up on a hill, providing elegant and comfortable privacy in the breathtaking wilderness. En-suite bathrooms offer hot showers and flush toilets and each tent has a private balcony with views of the park. The nine safari-style tents are strategically positioned to not feel too on top of each other.

Family Suite

The one family suite is not in a tent, but a wooden construction close to the central lodge.

An ideal base for island activities

The Galapagos Safari Camp is the perfect home base from which to explore the island and those that surround it. With organized, private guiding, embark on half and full day excursions including wildlife tours, biking, kayaking, trekking,  surfing, fishing, scuba-diving and many more. An advantage of Galapagos Safari Camp for land-based visits is the flexibility of their itineraries which can be tailormade. In addition to exploring key attractions and wildlife on Santa Cruz, they also arrange boat trips to nearby islands including Santa Fe.

Getting to Galapagos Safari Camp

The lodge is situated on Santa Cruz Island. It’s located 25km from the airport on the neighboring island of Baltra, from which the Galapagos Safari Camp arranges a transfer over from Baltra (around 15 minutes) followed by a 25 minutes drive to the camp.

Dining at Galapagos Safari Camp

The stylish central lodge has an open floor plan offering magnificent, panoramic views and a spacious veranda.  Relax in front of the cozy fireplace, enjoy a drink on the balcony at sunset, or have a bite to eat in the dining room, where the chef will prepare a selection of local and international dishes.

The Pool

Soak up the tranquility of the infinity pool after a long day exploring the island and try to spot the finches, warblers, mockingbirds and Galapagos doves swooping past.
