Custom made travel to Peru
At Aracari we specialize in designing fully customized itineraries which can
encompass every region of Peru, giving you exclusive
access to private houses, art collections and events. Working
with our top-class guides we navigate the tourist traps to ensure
that you avoid the crowds and experience the many wonders of Peru.
Most of all, we listen to you before hand-crafting an itinerary
and execute it with meticulous attention to detail.
Peru is South America's culinary as well as cultural heartland, and our carefully
planned itineraries include time to enjoy the unique
local cuisine, as well as shopping and evening relaxation.
We have over 80 establishments to choose from for your accommodation
– each personally chosen and vetted every 12 months. There are
of course 5 star hotels, but also small, comfortable lodges and
hotels which are full of character and convey something of the
local depth and richness of the Peruvian heritage.

Special interest trips
We can design an itinerary around one or more of your favourite
interest. With more chef schools than any other city in the World,
Lima is the centre for our cuisine
trips. If you enjoy trekking,
exploring the pristine Peruvian rainforest,
river rafting or paragliding we can plan an adventure trip. Or,
with our specialist guides
as your companions, you can explore the amazing cultural and archaeological
riches of Peru. Passionate about their fields of expertise, they
will enlighten you in weaving, antiques, folk arts or crafts.
We will advise you on how to best focus on your particular interest,
culture, archaeology
or nature, or a
combination of all of these. To assist you in building your trip,
we have classified the destinations in culture,
archaeology or
nature trips. You can also
build your trip going directly to the section called destinations.
Traveling to remote areas of Peru
If you are looking for a challenge, we love to design itineraries
well off the beaten track without every compromising your safety,
and comfort even if the accommodation is more basic than in the
cities. With contacts throughout Peru you can stay at beautiful
haciendas, visit local communities or plan your trip to coincide
with the many local festivals
that take place throughout the year. Or how about traveling to
Chachapoyas in North Eastern Peru, former home of the ‘cloud
people' in the 10 th Century. Still relatively untouched by tourism,
Kuelap,
the largest of the Chachapoyas remains is perched high on a mountain,
a city of over 400 dwellings, palaces, temples and homes is surrounded
by a 70 foot wall.
Private trips tailor-made to suit your tastes and requirements start at $300 per day per person for a party of two including accommodation in 5-star hotels (standard rooms) on a half–board basis, with private English-speaking guides throughout and all tours and transfers. Prices of course vary with certain very upscale and expensive services. The same itinerary in tourist standard hotels can come out at $180 per person per day.
Also, the more friends join to travel together in a private party, the less expensive it is per person.

“You'll also
want specialist help, since the global travel firms tend to keep
travelers confined to the gringo trails long worn by backpackers.
Latin America is more interesting than this so whenever possible,
hire an outfitter based locally. There's Marisol Mosquera in Peru
who also covers Bolivia and Ecuador.” Sophy
