We are delighted to introduce an unforgettable trip. From the archaeological riches of Lima, Cuzco and Machu Picchu to the pristine, beautiful beaches of Araujo Island (Paraty) and Rio de Janeiro. Accompanied by specialist, erudite experts you will visit museums, galleries, ruins and places of natural beauty as an ‘insider', getting away as much as possible from the tourist path.

This itinerary can be booked exactly as it is or can be tailored to suit your requirements adding Exclusive Access, Festivals or Adventure activities.

Good time to travel: Year round but mostly recommended from November to April.

Day 1
Arrival Lima

Arrival from your International flight into Lima airport. You will be met by your transfer representative and driven to the Hotel Country Club Lima***** , located in the residential and commercial district of San Isidro, across from the exclusive Lima Golf Club. This elegant hotel is housed in a converted 1920's property, which is precisely why we love it! Overnight Country Club Lima*****.

Day 2
Lima - Cuzco - Urubamba Valley

You will be collected from the hotel and driven to the airport to take you flight to Cuzco (3400m/11,220 ft) at 9.00 am. Arrival at Cuzco airport, where you will be met by the Maria del Carmen Vargas, Aracari representative, as well as by your guide. After a short briefing by Mari Carmen you will continue on with your guide for a visit of Pisac Ruins (1 hour away), our favourite site in the Urubamba Valley with stunning terracing hugging the contours of the hills. After this visit, you will proceed towards Urubamba (45 minutes drive) where your hotel is located. Lunch at the hotel or at a local restaurant and rest of the afternoon at leisure to acclimatize to altitude. In the evening, experience one of the hotel's spa tratement. Overnight Hotel Sol y Luna**** .

Day 3
Ollantaytambo

You will be collected by your private guide and drive for 30 minutes to visit the village and Inca site of Ollantaytambo , which boasts some of the finest Inca architecture known. Return towards your Hotel and lunch at the lovely Hacienda Huayo Ccari , the private estate of one of Cuzco's oldest land owning families. Cocktails in the garden and gourmet lunch. Return to your Hotel in the late afternoon. In the evening, experience the vibrancy and colour of ‘The Gods of the Andes', a 20 minute show of Peruvian dance, song and acrobatics. Day 4

Take a break from the hectic pace of sightseeing with half-day ride across the river to Huayllabamba and Urquillos, riding on rural paths, along river banks and through villages. The landscape is truly breathtaking. You will then be surprised by a superb ‘al fresco' Gourmet Lunch in a beautiful spot in the Valley. After lunch, visit the town and ruins of Chinchero, which has an attractive church dating back to the 17th Century, built on an Inca temple. This is by far the most scenic route in the Valley. Day 5
Machu Picchu!!

Transfer to the village of Poroy, 40 minutes away from Urubamba, where you will take the Hiram Bingham train station to Machu Picchu, the train ride mainly through wonderful cloud forest scenery. On arrival, check in at your hotel. Guided visit of the site with your private guide. Machu Picchu , also known as "The Lost City of the Incas" is one of the world's most celebrated archaeological sites and rightly so. Its location is spectacular. It is nestled in the Andean cloud forest on a high ridge straddling between two mountains...with the Urubamba river curling like a snake below it. The mountain scenery surrounding it is magnificent. The site itself is also spectacular, with some of the finest and more complex Inca architecture known. After visiting the site with your guide, you will take a half hour bus ride down to your Hotel, the lovely Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel   or enjoy the perfect location by the ruins themselves, at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge ***.

Day 6
Machu Picchu, Return to Cuzco

This morning you will be able to enjoy Machu Picchu almost all to yourself, as you will be able to access the site as soon as it opens, and watch the morning unfold. Machu Picchu at this time is pure magic. All day at leisure in Machu Picchu. A-la-carte lunch at Tampu Restaurant in Sanctuary Lodge. Afternoon return by Train from Machu Picchu to Cuzco, journey time is approximately 3.45 hours. At the train station you will be collected and driven to the Hotel Monasterio del Cusco***** where you will overnight.

Day 7
Cuzco Visit

Experience Cuzco with a difference! In the morning your guide will take you to the most important sites within the Historic Centre of Cuzco, such as the Cathedral, Korikancha or Sun Temple. Lunch at Incanto Restaurant. Afternoon visit of Sacsayhuaman and other Inca sites around the city. Special dinner in Map Café, our favourite restaurant in Cuzco, the Map Café is a statement of elegant simplicity situated in a fantastic location. Set in an intriguing glass ‘box' in the courtyard of the Pre-Columbian Art Museum, this restaurant offers the best in Andean Nouvelle cuisine. Overnight Hotel Monasterio .

Day 8
cusco – lima – rio de janeiro

Day Room in Lima, city tour in Lima, dinner and transfer to the airport to take your international flight to Brasil.

After a delicious breakfast you will be transferred to the airport and travel to Lima. In the airport, you will be met by your host or hostess, an Aracari specialist who will show you Lima in a way only a passionate insider can. Our specialists are architects, art historians and very cultured individuals. Afternoon guided visit at the Larco Herrera Museum or National Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology by one of the most respected archaeologists in Lima, ex curator of the Larco Herrera Museum.  Dinner at one of our favourite Lima gourmet restaurants or one in a spectacular setting.   Day room in Hotel Country Club Lima. Take the evening flight to Rio de Janeiro.

Day 9

Your host will meet you to discuss the various options for your day in Rio and transferred to the Fasano, the newest hotel highly expected in Rio, located perfectly on Ipanema Beach.

A good way to understand the City is to walk along the beaches of Ipanema and Leblon – Rios most trendy neighbourhoods to get a feeling for carioca life. One of the most striking things about Rio is how the beach is an integral part of the city life and this will immediately become apparent as we stroll through the neighbourhood. Finish the day with dinner in one of Rio's great restaurants. Overnight at the newly opened Hotel Fasano Rio de Janeiro.

Day 10

You will be picked up at the hotel to start your ride to Paraty. Upon arrival, you will be met by your host and briefed on the possible activities. You will take a small boat straight to your home for the next three nights, Villa Araujo an exclusive little island where your Villa is located. Freshen up, relax and unwind and enjoy a delicious home- made lunch while you enjoy the lovely views onto the bay from the verandah.   The Villa has a cook and housekeeper who are exclusively at your service.

If you feel up to it, after lunch and at your convenience, you can have a guided walking tour with a very well informed guide who will enlighten you with Paraty's fascinating history.   Paraty is a charming 17 th century town, now a UNESCO heritage site due to the excellent preservation of its original historic centre.   It was the port that dispatched to Europe,    the gold extracted from the mines of Minas Gerais about 1000km away during Colonial times.   Colourful facades, cobblestoned streets and palm-fringed plazas make it a most romantic place. Strolling around visiting art galleries, bookshops, and crafts shops is a delight. There are many restaurants to indulge in very special Brazilian fare.   Your boat will be at your disposal to take you back to your home on Villa Araujo. You may have dinner at one of Paraty's atmospheric restaurants, or head home to dinner.   Overnight at Villa Araujo.

Day 11

Today you may relax and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the villa and its surroundings. A small service boat with sailor will be at your disposal all day and evening giving you the freedom to go to Paraty or tour the neighbouring secluded bays.   Overnight at Villa Araujo.

Day 12

The bay facing Paraty has some fantastic settings with virgin beaches, a dense Atlantic forest panorama and a water of stunning turquoise colors. You will go for an exclusive boat excursion, leaving in the morning and heading back at the end of the afternoon. A bilingual host-sailor will be navigating the yacht. Overnight at Villa Araujo.

Day 13
paraty – Rio de Janeiro

Last morning at the villa to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the site.  After lunch time, you will transfer back to Rio and are scheduled to arrive in the afternoon. Overnight at Hotel Fasano.

Day 14

Visit Rio on your own.

At appropriate time you will be transferred to the airport to board your international flight back home.
