Travel to Peru

Treasure may have fuelled the creation of what was once the largest
empire in the world? but the real richness of Peru can be found
in the spectacularly wildly differing landscapes and the melting
pot of ethnicity, ancient history and culture of this, the third
largest country in South America.
A land of desert, mountains and rainforest

Peru is a land of three extremes - the sprawling, arid desert
coastline once home to one of the oldest civilisations on earth,
the vast swathes of rainforest
that cover almost two-thirds of Peru, and the breathtaking peaks
of the Andes, the highest tropical mountain range in the world,
which stretch across the entire length of the country. Add to
this geographical diversity the proximity of the Equator and the
cold waters of the Humboldt current and you get a series of micro-climates
ranging from the extreme dryness of the coast to the intense humidity
of the jungle.
Much more than Machu Picchu
The variety doesn't end with the geography and weather. As a
visitor to Peru there is simply so much to see. Yes, there are
the splendours of Machu
Picchu, but there were at least eight other ancient civilisations
before the Incas made their mark, and as Peruvians we can best
help you explore the ruins all over the country. We can take you
into the depths of pristine rainforest and up the highest peaks
in the Andes using the most experienced guides, we can show you
the wonders of the Colca
Valley, the deepest canyon in the world and the home of the
condor, and introduce you to the hidden gems of Lima
and Cuzco. And
these are just a few of the many destinations
we cover.
At Aracari we take great pride in hand-crafting you the trip
of a lifetime, taking you beyond the tourist trail and under the
skin of a country we know inside out.

"From the first minute on Peruvian
soil to the last, our trip was perfectly organized and perfectly
executed. We felt entirely pampered every minute we were in the
care of Aracari." Daniela

"Our client could not stop talking
about how wonderful his trip to Peru was. He said every single
guide was outstanding and that everything flowed perfectly."

"You'll also want specialist help,
since the global travel firms tend to keep travelers confined
to the gringo trails long worn by backpackers. Latin America is
more interesting than this so whenever possible, hire an outfitter
based locally. There's Marisol Mosquera in Peru who also covers
Bolivia and Ecuador." Sophy
Roberts, Departures Magazine, October 2006
