We encourage you to visit the outstanding archaeology along the Moche Route. With two state-of-the-art museums, and several world-class ancient archaeological sites that are currently being excavated, this visit will transport you to Ancient Peru. And, at Aracari we of course add that special touch. We suggest you visit this area with one of the archaeologists we have hand selected, who are active in their work at La Huaca de la Luna. Staying at the Chicama Surf Resort is also a novelty. It’s wonderful knowing you have a relaxing oceanfront property with a pool waiting for you after a long day of intense archaeological visits!

Day 1 | 2 | 3

Transfer to the airport to catch a morning flight to Trujillo. Morning visit of the Huaca de la Luna (Moche c 100-700 AD), a superb archaeological site where excavations are currently under way. Lunch in the sea side resort of Huanchaco. Afternoon visit of Chan Chan, the most extensive adobe (mud brick) city in the Americas corresponding to the pre Inca Chimu culture. We recommend you add a special visit to Casa Ganoza during this itinerary. Overnight Chicama Surf Resort.

Day 2

Chiclayo

Drive from Chicama Surf to Chiclayo via Paijan and witness a Paso Horse demonstration in a traditional hacienda. Visit the site of Sipan and the Tumbas Reales Museum and return to Chicama Surf Resort. Overnight Chicama Surf Resort.

Leisurely morning. Drive to Ferranafe to visit the Sican Museum. Lunch in Chiclayo and visit to the eroded Moche Pyramids of Tucume - an amazing sight! Afternoon flight to Lima.
