  
Early start today. You will be driven on a paved road (this is the main road that takes you to Chinchero) to Taucca (3840m) 1 1/2 hours; 60 km from Cuzco. Once in Taucca the llamas/mules will be loaded, and you will start your trek heading northeast (7-9 hours). The scenery is varied going from high altitude savannah or "puna" (3 1/2 hours gentle ascent) to a landscape typical of lower Andean Valleys rich in corn, potatoes, and other Andean tubers (3 1/2 hours gentle descent to the site).
You will reach Huchuy Qosqo ("Little Cuzco"), a lesser-known Inca site. Huchuy Qosqo is a noteworthy Inca complex. It boasts very fine stonework, in a large Kallanka (Hall) and some residential and defensive quarters, typical of Inca architecture. In some areas, there is the use of adobe on stone, a style that is only found in Raqchi, southeast of Cuzco and is typical of later Inca architecture. Huchuy Qosqo is located on a plateau, surrounded by Inca terracing, commanding superb views of the Vilcabamba range. After your visit, you will meet your station wagon taxis which will drive you to Calca where you will meet your vehicle, which will take you to your hotel in Urubamba. Alternatively, you can camp in this magical spot. We carry all the gear, tents, sleeping bags, chairs and tables , cookingware, to ensure you have a fantastic evening. The next morning, you will have an alfresco breakfast and have time to explore the site. At mid morning, you will start your descent down to Lamay, in the Sacred Valley, where you will arrive at about 11.30am.
From here you can continue your journey and make visits in the Valley or Cusco or just relax at your hotel.
The total distance of the trek is approximately 14 Km. Maximum altitude is 4300m.
The trek includes private guide, full board, cook and all the necessary kit to prepare your picnic lunch.(for day trek) and all the camping equipment including sleeping bags for the camping trek.
