Santa Cruz to Llanganuco Trek

4 days/3 nights.
Grade: Moderate/Hard.
Highlight: Dense Mountain scenery, communities.

Max. Altitude: 4,760m

This is the classic trek in the Cordillera Blanca area. Its highlight is the dense mountain scenery and spectacular views with wonderful snowcapped peaks and glacial lagoons. A total of 68km trek.

Day 1

After a 3 hour drive from Huaraz to Cashapampa, trek to LLamacorral. Total 3 to 4 hours trekking.

Day 2

Total 5 to 6 hours trekking.

Day 3

Total 6 to 7 hours trekking including trek over Punta Union pass (4760m)

Day 4

Possibility to observe activities such as weaving, baking and guinea pig rearing at the community of Huaripampa before trek to Vaqueria (3650m). Then 5 hours transport to Huaraz or 2.5 hours to one of our favourite mountain lodges.

Trek can be extended by one night by visiting Alpamayo base camp.
