We at Aracari feel quite proud of Gastón Acurio’s achievements as the
ambassador of Peruvian cuisine abroad and locally. He has even managed to
instil much pride and a needed sense of identity amongst Peruvians.
There are many restaurants in Lima and Cusco, and whereas we like the Acurio restaurants we prefer smaller places, such as La Gloria and Rafael in Lima and Cicciolina in Cusco. Nonetheless we admire him for all that he has done for our cuisine. Kudos to him!
