Christmas in Peru, as anywhere in the world, is a time of great joy and fanfare. The night of the 24th of December – or “la noche Buena” (the good night) – is the big celebration, when families gather together to enjoy good food and merriments before opening their presents together after midnight (although the children are often allowed to open their presents early). It is a very festive occasion with lots of food, drink, music and dancing.

These tortoises are fed once or twice a week at the criadero de tortugas on the island of Isabela – Galapagos.
We are starting a new section in our blog called Sights & Sounds of Aracari, where we will upload videos from all our trips. Starting with a charming capture of the Marinera, a graceful and romantic couple’s dance that uses handkerchiefs as props. The dance is an elegant reenactment of courtship, showing a blend of coastal Peruvian culture. You can experience this dance at the home of our contact in Trujillo, an exclusive opportunity for our clients.
I would like to thank your agency for arranging the trip for my son Alexander and his friends to Peru and Bolivia. He had an excellent experience and he was very happy with the overall service he received. Next project will be for my wife and myself together with friends to do the same trip. Hopefully in the near future.
We had a fabulous trip and your organization couldn’t have been better. The places were wonderful, excellent hotels, nice restaurants, great activities (cycling, riding, river rafting), outstanding guides (esp Fernando in Cuzco/Machu Pichu). Reception and logistics at airport was great and drivers/cars were very good. Really a great trip which we all enjoyed a lot. Also thank you for flexibility in accommodating changes (my wife’s schedule/participation in activities and the fall back in case I wasn’t well to walk the Inka trail). It all worked perfectly. I guess the highlight was the walk to Machu Picchu and the next day up at Machu Pichu including Waina Picchu climb. The boys loved the rafting (excellent operator) and also the biking. Well done and thanks for organisation.Klaus
