I’m Juan José, Product Development Manager at Aracari Travel. Born and raised in Lima, I’ve spent more than a decade working across South America’s most extraordinary landscapes — from the Sacred Valley to the Atacama Desert — curating transformative travel experiences that bring our region’s stories to life.

Before joining Aracari, I led projects in luxury hospitality and sustainable tourism, experiences that shaped my appreciation for the delicate balance between access, authenticity, and preservation. Today, I oversee our portfolio of immersive experiences, ensuring each one captures the spirit of place and reflects the thoughtful craftsmanship Aracari is known for.

Some of my most memorable travel moments include driving the Manu Road from Cusco to the jungle, hiking on top of the Perito Moreno Glacier with a scotch on the rocks (glacier ice included), summiting Mount Pisco in Huaraz, and hiking the Inca Trail with my high school friends.

My top travel tip is to do some research beforehand — and then listen to local voices once you’re on the ground. It’s often the simplest moments that stay with you the longest.

When I travel, I like to strike a balance between planning and spontaneity: researching key details, but always leaving room to get a little lost and see where curiosity leads. Outside of work, I’m a passionate photographer, an admirer of contemporary Peruvian art, and a devoted father to Luna and Julián.
