Urubamba, Sacred Valley, Peru
Overview of this luxury villa in Cusco
Casa Mira is a large spacious property ideal for families and larger groups looking for peace and privacy in one of the most breathtaking parts of Peru. Situated at an altitude of 2,980 m / 9776 ft above sea level, this private villa is the ideal base from which to explore the wider Valley and the city of Cusco.
Beautifully decorated, the quaint condo is filled with authentic Andean antiquities, including pottery, paintings, and sculptures. And on the terracotta tiled floors, guests will find an array of textiles, giving the property warmth during the colder months and adding to the Andean aesthetic. A favorite feature amongst the Aracari team are the expansive windows, which bring lots of light into the villa throughout the day and offer incredible views of the mountains.
The grounds of the property are as lush as the Valley in which it is located, and there are plenty of places for guests to enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Hammocks and comfortable outdoor furniture have been carefully arranged around the garden, and there’s even a large hot tub – where guests can stargaze from the warm waters of the jacuzzi.
This delicately cared-for luxury villa in Cusco is both cozy and comfortable, and a sublime sanctuary to soak up the Peruvian countryside. After a long day exploring the Sacred Valley and the surrounding archaeological sites, or perhaps cycling, horse riding, or canoeing, what better way to recoup than by settling down in front of a roaring fire to read or enjoy one of the family-friendly games provided by the owners.
Inside this private villa in Cusco
Access to this luxury villa in Cusco is via a beautiful tree-lined path, surrounded by the Valley’s mesmeric mountains. This secluded path leads straight into the grounds of Casa Mira, and into the villa via the outdoor patio which is tastefully decorated with comfortable outdoor furniture.
Heading inside, guests will arrive in the main living space. This large, double-height room features an open-plan kitchen and living room – the perfect place to socialize after an adventurous day spent exploring the region. There is a large fireplace, and a cozy mezzanine, accessed via a charming timber staircase. Here guests can find a Smart TV, soft seating, and desk space, all under the open beams of the original ceiling.
One of our favorite features of this private villa in Cusco is the vast windows, which bring the greenery of the valley into the living room. It’s here guests can enjoy the impressive views from one of the fur-clad armchairs that sit opposite the glass.
Leading on from the main living space, guests will follow a long corridor – where each of the walls has been adorned with carefully selected art and crafts – all reflecting the area in which Casa Mira is located.
The property has three bedrooms and can comfortably sleep up to 13 people. The first contains a double bed, as well as a sofa bed, and has its own bathroom. In the second guests will find another double bed, and a bunk bed – and again this room also has access to its own bathroom.
The third bedroom contains 2 single beds and a bunk bed with a separate bathroom, making it a great option for children. And on the living room’s mezzanine floor there is a second sofa bed, which can sleep two adults. Casa Mira also has its own maid rooms – should guests wish to bring their own household staff.
In the garden, guests will find two hammocks – an idyllic place to soak up some of the Andean sun during long afternoons. There is also a large table and an open-air grill here too, where guests can dine on locally sourced ingredients, before taking a dip in the cedar hot tub. This heated jacuzzi can accommodate 4 to 6 adults, and the housekeeping team can prepare it each evening – so that guests can enjoy some Sacred Valley stargazing whilst relaxing in the warm water.
Nestled in the picturesque region of Urubamba, in the Sacred Valley of Peru, Casa Mira can be found in the rural community of Urquillos. This luxury villa in Cusco offers privacy and seclusion in one of the most picturesque parts of Peru and is ideally located between Cusco City and Machu Picchu.
One of the country’s best hotels is just a 5-minute drive away, Explora Valle Sagrado – although you’d never know. To access Casa Mira, guests will drive 15 minutes with their Aracari driver down an unpaved rural road before arriving at the private grounds of the property.
It’s an area that enjoys a pleasant climate throughout the year – with occasional rain during the summer months (April to November).
Guests at Casa Mira will be cared for by Rosaura, the cook, and Roosevelt, the caretaker, who will both be at the property from 7:30 am until you retire to bed.
Each day, rooms will be cleaned and made up, and daily breakfast will be prepared using locally sourced ingredients such as native fruits, quinoa pancakes, and freshly baked Serrano bread. Each night, an evening meal will also be served, using produce grown in the garden and the surrounding valley. Although not included as standard, guests can request lunch to be served at the cottage or as a picnic box– this service can be arranged upon booking.
Any laundry is included in the price too, and Roosevelt will help to prepare the fire, both indoor and outdoor, as well as heat the hot tub each evening. There is good WiFi throughout the property, central heating, air conditioning, and a Smart TV so that guests can access streaming services such as Netflix.
Guests will also have access to a 24-hour English-speaking concierge, who will be available to fulfill any requests or answer any questions. There will also be a 24-hour security guard living in or nearby the premises.
Alcoholic drinks can be enjoyed via the use of an honesty bar, whereby guests make a note of the beverage enjoyed and settle the sum with the concierge upon checkout. Any specific drinks, such as wine, champagne, or spirits, can be delivered to Case Mira ahead of arrival – again, this service can be arranged for an additional charge at the time of booking.
