After three years of restoration, Quinta Miraflores Boutique Hotel opened in 2012 in a stylishly decorated antique home that  maintains its historic feel. It is called “Quinta” because it is next to a quinta, a quarter of historic buildings constructed in the early 1900’s that was a residence to artists. The hotel offers travellers a comfortable base for exploring Lima – their aim is to make guests feel as much at home as possible during their stay.

There is a touch of Italian panache evident in the décor with fine arts on the wall, fine linens, authentic tiling in the bathrooms and stylish accessories as well as restored antiques, crystal chandeliers and gorgeous wooden features. Some of the décor has been imported directly from Italy.

With a total of four rooms, there are two suites and two premium rooms, all with en suite bathrooms and antique touches. The suites also have charming, clawfoot bathtubs. We recommend the suites which are much larger. One of the suites is on the ground floor, which boasts a functioning chimney for cool evenings and the other suite and two premium rooms are on the second floor. All of the modern aspects of the rooms –plasma televisions, Wi-Fi, air conditioner/heat, safe deposit box and minibar – are hidden away in cabinets to retain the historic feel.

Breakfast is served in the bedroom or in the small garden, and there is a selection of fresh bread, fruit juices, cheeses, deli cuts, yoghurt and cereal as well as teas and espresso coffee. The hotel is also within walking distance of some of the best restaurants in Lima. And – for those who are that way inclined – there is actually a Starbucks attached to the same building, the decor of which conforms to the same authentic style as Quinta.
