How We Started
Aracari was founded in 1996 by Peruvian-born Marisol Mosquera after a pivotal decision to leave a successful banking career in London. A year of travel reshaped her understanding of what a journey could be and inspired her to return home with a new vision for Peru.
Marisol created one of the region’s first specialist travel companies dedicated to offering meaningful, culturally informed experiences at a time when Peru was only beginning to emerge on the global stage. Nearly three decades later, that philosophy remains the foundation of everything we do.

The Team Behind Your Journey
Aracari is guided by an international team anchored in Lima and connected across the world. Our operations, concierge, and experience specialists work on the ground in Peru, while our travel designers and creative team collaborate from North America, Europe, and Asia.
Many of us have been part of Aracari since the early days, including our wonderful concierge Raul – who has been with us since the very first journeys of Aracari. We choose to work together because we share the same values and curiosity, and that continuity has shaped a distinct culture of trust, independence, and genuine passion for what we do.
Throughout the year, we come together across the continent to explore new destinations, refine experiences, and gather for our annual off-site in Peru. These moments keep us aligned and close to the people and places our travelers encounter.
Alongside our core team is the Aracari Circle, a long-standing network of scholars, artists, chefs, conservationists, and creative leaders who open their worlds to our guests. Their insight brings an exceptional depth to the journeys we create.
