DAY 1: Welcome to Lima  – Lima

Upon arrival at Jorge Chávez International Airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Aracarí and transferred to Hotel B in Barranco. This bohemian district is famous for its art and culture. Rest and prepare to explore more of vibrant Lima tomorrow.

DAY 2: Art and Gastronomy in Barranco – Lima

Start the day with a visit to the Amano Museum in Miraflores, where you can immerse yourself in the fascinating collection of pre-Columbian textiles and cultural artifacts. Learn about the rich history and weaving techniques of ancient Peruvian civilizations as you explore the exhibits.

Then, enjoy a delicious lunch at the renowned Isolina restaurant in Barranco. This restaurant offers an authentic culinary experience with traditional Peruvian dishes with a contemporary twist.

Continue your day by exploring Barranco’s art scene with visits to the Las Pallas and Cajamarca 219 galleries. Explore the works of talented local artists and discover the diversity and creativity of contemporary Peruvian art.

End the day with a relaxing dinner at one of Barranco’s charming restaurants, where you can enjoy more Peruvian culinary delights and immerse yourself in the bohemian and vibrant atmosphere of the district.

DAY 3: Immersing in Lima’s History – Lima

Today you will embark on a comprehensive tour to explore Lima’s rich history. You will start with a visit to the Pedro de Osma Museum, where you will discover the collection of Peruvian colonial art and historical objects.

Next, you will head to Huaca Huallamarca, an ancient pre-Inca archaeological site that offers a fascinating glimpse into Lima’s early history.

You will continue to Lima’s historic center, where you will visit the majestic Lima Cathedral and the Convent of Santo Domingo, two prominent examples of colonial religious architecture.

To end the day, you will explore Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion that has been owned by the same family since the 16th century, offering a unique insight into Lima’s history and aristocratic life.

After a day filled with history and culture, you will return to Hotel B.

DAY 4: From Lima to Arequipa, Meeting the Alpacas – Arequipa 

In the morning, board your flight to the beautiful city of Arequipa, known as the «White City» for its stunning buildings made of white sillar stone. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the exclusive Cirqa Hotel, where you will experience elegance and comfort amidst colonial architecture.

After checking into the hotel, head to Mundo Alpaca, a fascinating complex where you will discover everything about these adorable Andean creatures and the ancient weaving technique. Enjoy an interactive tour that will take you through the process of alpaca textile production, from shearing to the creation of hand-woven art pieces.

DAY 5: Alpaca Fiesta and Chaccu- Arequipa 

Today, you will have the exciting opportunity to attend the Alpaca Fiesta, a vibrant festival celebrating the culture and importance of alpacas in the region. During this event, you will witness the impressive Chaccu of the alpacas, an ancestral tradition where local communities come together to shear alpacas in the highlands of the Andes.

The Chaccu is a spectacular sight, where herders use traditional techniques to shear alpacas in a festive and energetic atmosphere. You will be able to observe this millennia-old process up close and learn about its cultural and economic significance for Andean communities.

Then we will return to Cirqa Hotel where the rest of the afternoon will be free.

DAY 6:  Heading to Lake Titicaca – Puno

Today, you will begin your journey by land to the majestic Lake Titicaca, one of the highest navigable lakes in the world. Along the way, you will witness breathtaking Andean landscapes, with panoramic views of snow-capped mountains, fertile valleys, and vast plains.

Throughout the journey, you will have the opportunity to spot vicuñas in their natural habitat. These elegant creatures are an emblematic species of the Andean region and a significant source of fine wool. You will enjoy unforgettable moments watching these animals graze in the expansive puna landscapes.

While it will be a long day in transit, the journey will be filled with exciting views and unique experiences. Finally, you will arrive at Hotel Titilaka, located on the shores of Lake Titicaca, where you can relax and enjoy the tranquility of this unique natural environment after a day full of adventures.

DAY 7: Exploring the Taquile Island- Puno

Today, you will have the opportunity to explore the charming Taquile Island on Lake Titicaca, famous for its rich culture and exceptional textile technique. During the visit, you will get up close with the local traditions of the Taquile community, which have been preserved for centuries.

You will admire the extraordinary skill of the inhabitants of Taquile in weaving, which has been recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. You will learn about ancestral weaving techniques, traditional designs, and the cultural significance behind each piece.

After exploring the island and immersing yourself in its rich culture, you will have the afternoon free to enjoy the serene landscape of Lake Titicaca or participate in optional activities offered by the hotel.

DAY 8: Journey to the Sacred Valley – Sacred Valley

Today will be a day of land transfer to the Hotel Río Sagrado, located in the stunning Sacred Valley of Cusco. The journey will take approximately 8 hours but will be an opportunity to enjoy the spectacular landscapes of the Peruvian Andes.

During the journey, you will make a stop at Fundo Palca, where you will have the opportunity to learn more about alpacas and the textile fibers they produce. Here, you can learn about alpaca breeding, wool collection, and the production process of high-quality textiles.

DAY 9: Rest and Cultural Encounter in the Sacred Valley – Sacred Valley

In the morning, you will enjoy some free time to rest and relax at the Belmond Hotel Río Sagrado or explore the surroundings of the beautiful Sacred Valley of Cusco. At noon, you will head to Hacienda Huayoccari to enjoy a traditional lunch in a charming setting surrounded by nature.

After lunch, you will visit the picturesque village of Chinchero, renowned for its talented weavers. Here, you will have the privilege of meeting Nilda Cañañaupa, a prominent local weaver, who will demonstrate her art and share her experience and knowledge of the ancestral Andean textile technique.

Upon concluding the demonstration, you will return to Hotel Río Sagrado to enjoy dinner and rest, reflecting on the enriching experiences of the day in the Sacred Valley.

DAY 10: Exploring Machu Picchu – Machu Picchu

Early in the morning, you will depart from the Ollantaytambo station by train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu. You will enjoy a scenic journey through the Sacred Valley as you approach this archaeological wonder.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will board the bus that will take you to the entrance of Machu Picchu. Once inside, you will be greeted by the stunning Inca ruins, surrounded by imposing mountains and lush vegetation.

You will spend the day exploring the most fascinating corners of Machu Picchu, accompanied by an expert guide who will share information about the history and culture of this unique archaeological site in the world.

After visiting Machu Picchu, you will return to Aguas Calientes to enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Then, you will take the train back to the Ollantaytambo station and be transferred back to your cozy Hotel Río Sagrado.

DAY 11: Encounter in the Pallay Community and Transfer to Cusco – Cusco

In the morning, you will have the opportunity to visit the Pallay community, where you will learn about a project that promotes and preserves the ancestral textile techniques of the community. You will discover how these techniques have been integrated into fashion garments sold in the city of Cusco, allowing the textile tradition to endure and thrive.

You will enjoy a typical lunch with the local weavers, sharing not only delicious food but also enriching cultural stories and experiences. After lunch, you will be transferred to your next destination, the Boutique Hotel Casa Cartagena in Cusco. This charming hotel will offer you a cozy refuge in the heart of the historic city of Cusco, where you can relax and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this imperial city.

DAY 12:  Cusco Unveiled and the Art of Alpacas Textiles – Cusco

In the morning, you will explore the most emblematic places of the city of Cusco with the guidance of a specialist in local history. You will discover the rich history and colonial architecture of this ancient Inca capital, visiting places such as the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral of Cusco, and the Temple of the Sun, among other points of interest.

After the guided tour, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at the Pachapapa restaurant, where you can taste typical dishes of Cusco’s cuisine in a cozy and traditional atmosphere. In the afternoon, you will take a tour of the most renowned shops and galleries offering alpaca and vicuña textiles. You will have the opportunity to admire and purchase high-quality garments made with the finest fibers from the Andean region.

In the evening, you will return to your hotel, Casa Cartagena, where you can rest and relax after a day full of exploration and discoveries in the fascinating city of Cusco.
