Located near the lakes of Lipez, Hotel Jardines de Mallku Cueva is a simple and rustic yet comfortable Andean hotel. The unique architecture–the hotel is built into a rock–is inspired by the wondrous desert surroundings and stones of all shapes and sizes. All 12 rooms have electricity and heating plus private bathrooms with hot water. Eight of the rooms have two beds and four have one double bed. Much of the electricity is sourced from solar panels in keeping with sustainability principles in the area. The amenities are basic but the rooms are one of a kind for the region, with exposed stone and natural colors the blend well with the environment. The restaurant and bar area includes a cozy fireplace to warm up during the cold nights.

This hotel, while remote, has magnificent views of the natural surroundings as far as the eye can see. It is located between Uyuni and the Eduardo Avaroa Reserve which is ideal for travelers  leaving from visiting Salar de Uyuni, the largest and highest altitude salt flats and heading off to explore the lakes, geysers, volcanoes and rock formations around the Reserve or vice versa. The goal of the hotel is for travelers to feel comfortable and well rested in between adventures exploring the magnificent Bolivian highlands.
