The Belmond Hotel Monasterio is one of the most important Colonial buildings in Cusco, and many say the most beautiful hotel in all of Peru. Proclaimed a National Heritage Site in 1975, the hotel occupies the San Antonio Abad Monastery, built during the late 17th and early 18th centuries.

Not only is the Belmond Hotel Monasterio visually stunning, featuring 19 superior rooms, 82 deluxe rooms, 15 junior suites, 4 presidential suites and 2 royal suites, but it offers impeccable service and excellent food as well. It has been named ‘Best Hotel in South America’ numerous times by  Condé Nast Traveler. The hotel is tastefully decorated with antiques and some of the finest colonial paintings in Cusco. Situated in a quiet plaza just a few minutes walk from the Plaza de Armas and adjacent to the Belmond Palacio Nazarenas, the hotel has all the amenities you would expect in a five-star establishment, including two restaurants offering gourmet dining and a lobby bar. Each room is different in décor, but all provide a telephone, cable TV and a mini-bar.

The most unique feature of the Belmond Hotel Monasterio is that many rooms have an oxygen-enriching system to assist guests’ acclimatization to the altitude, available for an additional cost. Given that the hotel is a former convent, all rooms vary in size, and thus specific rooms of the same standard cannot be guaranteed.
